lizabeth "Beth" Helms studied early in the medium of oil painting under such artists' groups as noted artist, Sue Scheewe and most recently in the medium of watercolour under Hawai'ian artist, Helen Iaea. She is a member of both the Hawai'i Watercolor Society and Hawai'i Astronomical Society. Her work is regularly displayed at Tradewinds Gallery in Kaneohe, Private Collections and Corporate Offices nationwide, as well as Bed and Breakfasts on the island. Please, check the Exhibits Tab for up to date event information. Beth enjoys painting beachscapes, marine life foremost, but has found that even the simplest things, such as a bag of oranges, can provide a challenging and vibrant painting. The Sandsperations line of artwork has been progressing over the past fifteen years and is viewed by many as "unique and original". Beth's signature method of incorporating actual sand from which the scene originates gives the veiwer the sense that they are there, standing on that very beach. It provides a new dimension to the otherwise two-dimensional art piece.Beth believes that her faith in God is what enables her to see the beauty which surrounds her and to portray that inspiration into a painting. Glimpsperations is her venue for producing and showing such art. May you enjoy her artwork just as much as she has enjoyed painting them. |
